Over the past 20 years, my passion has been focused on marketing and branding the wine and drinks industry with a special interest in industry research. Having worked in high-profile drinks industry organisations including the head office marketing departments of Vintage Cellars, Liquorland, Cellarmasters and Farr Vintners, I’m uniquely positioned to help wineries and wine and drinks brands to grow.. I’ve been heavily involved in marketing and branding drinks brands, judging and assessing wines for their marketability and providing customer and staff education around industry trends. I’ve also travelled extensively through the wine, spirits and beer regions of the world, so I bring a great understanding to be able to help any winery, brewery or distillery with their brand and marketing, from cellar door and wine clubs and on-premise and off-premise brand and marketing collateral.

I speak French, Italian and German (Cambridge University and Durham University, UK) and hold an international WSET Diploma in Wine and Spirits which I earned through wine-related work, study and travel throughout Europe, the US, Australia and New Zealand I bring a vast amount of wine and drinks industry knowledge, experience, research and expertise alongside my branding and marketing skillset and really enjoy wine writing including writing tasting notes to really showcase and sell. I’m happy to get involved in tastings and help you to build your suite of tasting notes to bring to market, in the tone of voice of your brand and taking into account the philosophies around your business.

a passion for marketing and branding wine - how it all started

It all kicked off in 1995 during my year living and working in France, where I visited many wine regions. I became hugely inspired by the local winemakers and their passion for the craft. I loved hearing their winemaking stories, about their history, their families and their philosophies. I observed them working skilfully with nature to produce wines of such diverse character - real expressions of their terroir, and I was hooked. I wanted to share their stories and to research the industry ton find out more. I became a wine marketer and branding consultant to tell the stories behind the wines, their makers, their history and their passion and to spread industry, product and brand awareness, and I’m passionate about travelling and helping wineries to succeed by sharing their stories and winemaking techniques and buying direct from cellar door. I’m always looking for ways to help identify where there’s opportunity and how to best capitalise upon it.

Since 1995 I haven’t looked back, visiting many of the wine regions of the world to build relationships and research further to develop my branding and marketing skillset in order to build up a knowledge and experience base to be able to help others in the industry - particularly from the marketing, branding and creative side. I travel extensively, researching wine regions, connecting with winemakers and wine marketers globally and researching and discovering new branding, wine marketing and winemaking and viticultural practices. In recent years, I’ve extended my research and marketing activities to breweries and distilleries, researching industry brands and trends and assessing what’s working both at cellar door, in bars/restaurants and in retail.
